Our Creed
Covenant of Christ our King Presbyterian
Church
Believing that the Church as the body of Christ is the continuing
incarnation of God, we make this covenant with God and with one
another.
We covenant with God to seek:
To be a community in which worship is the first reason for being;
to develop our personal relationships with God through prayer,
study, and service; to seek to be faithful readers, interpreters,
and proclaimers of Scripture as God's inspired Word and to be
doers as well as hearers of this Word; to see where God is at
work in the world and to join in this work; to seek to be disciples
of Jesus Christ, the one in whom God has perfectly revealed himself.
to demonstrate God's love and to be open to receive it.
We covenant with one another to
seek:
To explore the meaning of being the continuing incarnation of
God; to build Christian community, affirming the worth of all
persons, and calling people to experience the forgiveness, purpose
and hope that God provides for us in Christ; to nurture people
as they grown in wisdom, faith and personal relationships; to
help people discern their gifts and to call them to exercise
these gifts; to minister to one another, being sensitive to individuals,
families and groups, responding to needs with appropriate Christian
action; to help one another celebrate the joy of life in Christ;
to provide Christian nurture for our children, affirming our
commitment to them during their most formative years; to provide
opportunities and sacrificially from our personal financial resources
in order that the work of the Lord be carried out effectively
and expansively; to be accountable to one another for living
faithfully in this covenant relationship.
We invite you to join with us in worshipping the living God.
The world cannot make us complete human beings. Only with God
can we be our true and best selves. Only through Jesus Christ
can we know total renewal and the fullness of the Holy Spirit.
We were created to know God, to serve God and to praise God.
Come and worship. |
