Linda Nepstad

The Reverend Linda J. Nepstad assumed pastoral leadership at Christ Our King on June 23, 1996.She previously served in Los Angeles, California, as an Associate Pastor for 10 years.There, at Westwood Presbyterian Church, she was involved in developing community life and spiritual formation, in addition to preaching consistently and performing other pastoral duties.She also served for 10 years on the Presbytery of the Pacific, Ministry of Preparation and was elected Moderator of the Presbytery in 1995.She also served as a delegate to General Assembly.
Prior careers included teaching language arts and journalism to middle and high school students and a business in tutoring and family counseling in Southern California.
She attended Alma College, University of Michigan, Azusa Pacific University and Fuller Theological Seminary.

Terrence Alspaugh

The Reverend E. Terrence Alspaugh began serving as Pastor of Youth and Education at Christ Our King in March of 1997. His prior ministry experiences include serving as Pastor of Fries Memorial Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC, Associate Pastor of Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore, and Chaplain of The Asheville School, a coed college preparatory boarding school in Asheville, North Carolina. Before heeding God's call to ordained ministry, Terrence was a corporate personnel manager at Citibank in New York City and an active member of the Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church. In May of 2001, Pastor Terrence was graduated from Johns Hopkins University with a Masters of Science in Counseling, after completing an internship as a child-focused family therapist at a community clinic in southwest Baltimore. He is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
 

Jim Riddell

The Reverend H. James Riddell first began his work at Christ Our King in 1971 as the Pastor to Youth. A graduate of Ursinus College and Conwell School of Theology, he has also been a pastor in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. He has served the Christ Our King congregation for more than twenty years in addition to working in a local industry. He assists with worship services and pastoral visitation as well as officiating at weddings and funerals. He resides in Bel Air with his wife, Karen Toussaint.
 

Lloyd Umbarger

Parish Associate

The Reverend Lloyd F. Umbarger became Parish Associate in June, 1999. A native of Harford County, Lloyd retired in July 1997 after serving four Presbyterian congregations in four states for approximately thirty-eight years: Relay, MD (2); West Chester, PA (5); Woodstown, NJ (10); and Bay city, MI (20). He has earned degrees from the University of Maryland (1954), Union Theological Seminary (Richmond) (1959) and Princeton Seminary (1973. Volunteer activities include Hospice of Baltimore and Harford Habitat for Humanity.

Gwen Paduch, our first Director of Children's Ministry, assumed the position in January of 2006. Currently pursuing a Masters of Church Ministry at the Ecumenical Institute of St. Mary’s Seminary and University in Baltimore, she has taught business and computer courses in high school, college, and corporate settings for the last 25 years. Gwen brings a life-long passion for learning and Bible study to her position as well as a genuine caring for children and children’s ministries. As a wife and mother of two, Gwen enjoys reading and quilting when time allows.

Cheryl Tyler

Director of Music Ministry

Studied voice and piano at Peabody Preparatory. Earned a Bachelor of Music Education from James Madison University with a Major in Voice and a Minor in Organ. Studied with Gertrude Burau, Marianne Webb, Helen Inninger, and Edmund Shay. Earned the Masters of Music Education from Towson University, and the Masters + 30 at Loyola College. Took extra studies at Peabody Conservatory of Music -- Studied with Madame Duschak. Participated in Church Music workshops at Montreat, N.C. and Massanetta, VA. Taught Elementary Vocal Music in Harford County Schools for 30 years, and directed choirs at Christ Our King since 1974.

Organist

Born in Baltimore, Maryland in July of 19!! In addition to serving my matchless Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through my position as Organist here at Christ Our King, I also enjoy leading the Emmanuel Bible Study group on Sunday mornings. Some of my interests include writing (both music and poetry), reading, walking, jigsaw puzzles, collecting postcards and enjoying my darling little niece Ashleigh!
